The magic fountain in Barcelona is a great experience with a unique atmosphere. Here you can enjoy a spectacular water and light show with music, Thursday – Sunday during summer. The fountain is located close to Plaça d'Espanya in the Montjuïc area of Barcelona. The attraction is free, and you can come and go as you please.
Charles Buigas designed the magic fountain for the world fair in 1929. Buigas designed the fountain with lights, color and sound to accompany the movement of the water. With the national gallery in the background, the fountain is a beautiful sight.
The magic fountain is among the top 10 attractions in Barcelona. Every year 2,5 million people visit the fountain. The shows are varied and offer different choreography and music, from classical music to modern pop music. One of the highlights is when the fountain is "dancing" accompanied by the song "Barcelona" which was made by Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballé for the Summer Olympics in 1992. The pyro-musical show during the Mercé Festival and the new year's eve celebrations are other highlights during the year.

- Opening hours October – March: Friday – Saturday, 19:00 – 21:00
- The Magic Fountain is closed for a couple of weeks in January or February due to maintenance
